engaging our culture
through missions

Missions Organizations

“At Macedonia, we are intentional about engaging our culture through missions. We have several active missions organizations in our church that mobilize our people to share the love of God to our neighbors and the nations. Through WMU, our ladies organize local, national, and global missions efforts throughout the year. Within our Brotherhood, the men of our church meet needs in the community and foster missions fellowship locally. We also have multiple families who participate in disaster relief efforts through Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief.”

Mission Trips

In June of this year, lead pastor Morgan and discipleship pastor Kris made a vision trip to Central America which included time in both Honduras and Guatemala. The purpose of this trip was to visit 3 of our Macedonia Missionaries and encourage them in their work. Along the way, our pastors shared the love of God and the Word of God at each stop. Additionally, they prayed and sought God’s vision for how we as a church can continue to participate in God’s work with our missionaries. We believe the God is leading us to GO in short term teams each year to assist and encourage our missionaries on the field. Going on a mission trip is a invigorating experience that God uses to help people grow spiritually. We believe mission trips are for all Christians. If you are interested in learning more about short-term missions please email Bro. Kris.

Macedonia Missionaries

Omar Alvarado

Omar and his family serve in the southern region of Honduras by strengthening local Baptist churches by training leaders and connecting congregations with partnering churches in the U.S. On our vision trip this summer Bro. Omar will be taking us to visit rural churches in Honduras that we may be able to partner with.

John & Angie Sullivan

Pastor Daniel Tercero along with his wife Zulema and associate Mario Tabora serves in the northern region of Honduras by ministering to the hurting at the public hospital and doing evangelism and discipleship among churches and leaders. On our vision trip this summer, we will experience how God is at work in this ministry and prayerfully seek to join Him.

Oscar Lopez

Pastor Oscar Lopez leads and plants churches in Guatemala. On our vision trip this summer, we will help Pastor Oscar train leaders and prayerfully consider ways to strengthen the churches that he is connected with.

Cooperative Program

At Macedonia we believe in the vision of cooperation among SBC churches. We contribute through our Alabama state convention to the Cooperative Program of the SBC. The Cooperative Program allows churches everywhere to participate in a unified mission. Through the Cooperative Program, we send missionaries, train pastors, plant churches, and assist in disaster relief & world hunger.
